Year 7 Sports Elite Program student Kaitlyn Buckley recently attended the 2022 Sarawak Borneo Cup International Taekwondo Championship held in Malaysia. The competition was attended by 700 athletes from 14 countries.
Kaitlyn earned two silver medals in sparring, and ended up tying for gold in the final round of the 12-14 year old division. She also challenged herself by sparring in the 15-17 year old division.
Kaitlyn’s perseverance and determination was constant throughout the competition and as a result, she was one of two people presented with the “Good Fighting Spirit Award”. What a fantastic achievement!
