The Year 6 Sports Elite Program trials were held on Monday for students wanting to be part of the Program in 2024. The trials were a chance for the students to demonstrate their power, speed and agility. This year saw a new addition of high-performance timing gates to increase the accuracy of athlete assessment. This equipment will also help as we set up long-term tracking of athletic development as students progress from Year 7 to Year 10.
The Sport Elite Program aims to develop the long-term physical development and leadership abilities of athletes at Aveley Secondary College. Trials for current Year 7-9 students will be held in Week 4 of this term.
