Year 10 HASS students attended an eye-opening incursion conducted by the Red Cross about the perceptions surrounding refugees and asylum seekers. After a brief presentation, students participated in a thought provoking simulation activity where they made choices, such as should they go to a refugee camp or seek asylum in another country, and then heard real life stories about the outcomes from each choice. This gave them a greater understanding of the lives, motivations and circumstances of people seeking asylum.
