As the weather cools down, we have avoided any brain-freeze in our Year 9 classes with their new topic of study. Students are learning about the central nervous system including the brain and spinal cord.
After racking our brains for an engaging way to delve deeper into the topic, it was a no-brainer to get students to experience the structure and systems in a hands on way.
Students worked in groups to observe the structures within the brain and brainstorm how the brain sends and receives messages to the body. Students’ brainwaves were haywire as they got to see and feel a brain in real life!
