This term’s Academies have proved very popular: Minecraft, Steampunk Sculptures and Media are already full. There are still limited spaces in Soccer, Music, Drama and Narrative Writing. Please enrol your child via Qkr! before Friday 1 November.
Stage 2 Expansion Commences
Our stage 2 build due to begin later in the year has been brought forward. Builders will begin setting up their site facilities this weekend on Cashman Ave. The main impact will be loss of parking in front of the science buildings. Parents are asked not to drive into the car park for drop off and pick up but use the perimeter short term parking areas designed for this.

New Staff: Shamus and Amy
Introducing Shamus and Amy our amazing Youth Workers who have joined our team this year. They provide a high level of support for many students at the College and are valued members of the team. They also facilitate some fantastic programs at the college such as Breakfast Club, friendship group and well-being programs.
Hi, my name is Shamus. Having grown up in the area myself, I feel that I have a great understanding of the many issues our students face. I am a fully qualified Youth Worker and have been working in the field since 2016, with a focus on promoting positive mental health. I have had experience supporting young people through my positions at the City of Swan and City of Wanneroo. As a Senior Youth Worker in the rural wheat belt town Merredin WA I gained valuable experience working alongside Aboriginal youth, families and Elders. I am dedicated to youth development and passionate about empowering all young people to reach their full potential.
Hi Aveley SC community, my name is Amy and I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the newest Youth Worker for ASC. I look forward to getting to know the students and helping them to excel and achieve greater things. Initially qualified as a hairdresser, I changed careers to become a Youth Worker and help those in need by working in residential care for the Department of Child Protection. I have worked in primary and high schools for the past two years, undertaking roles in Vocational and Educational Training (VET) support, as well as in behaviour and engagement via SSEN:BE. Having worked across many sides of education, I am eager to combine my knowledge and skills to further support our students here at Aveley.
Wear Your Sporting Colours Day
On Friday 27 September, for a gold coin donation, students are encouraged to wear their favorite sporting team’s colors. Students must wear their sports uniform shorts and their favorite selected sports t-shirt, jersey, or top (no sleeveless items permitted).
Students that do not wish to participate may wear their PE uniform for the day.
*Edit* Students wishing to wear a sleeveless sporting top (e.g. an AFL jersey) must wear a t-shirt underneath.
