Year 7 and 8 HASS Activities
Our Year 7 and 8 HASS classes have been engaging in role play activities as part of the Civics & Citizenship. Year 7 students have been learning about the different responsibilities of each level of government in Australia. They have worked in groups to create creative and informative role plays in the form of quizzes, game shows, interviews and news segments.

Education Support Hub Activities
We love the positive vibes and energy that surrounds our Education Support Hub. This term, there are lots of exciting activities happening, students are learning about France for their HASS around the world theme. They are learning the local language and will be cooking some French delicacies. Room 1 has a new member called Kung Fu. He is a japanese fighting fish and our students are enjoying taking care of him.
Learning about different cultures and the year of the Rat for Chinese New Year is another topic. Students have also created some beautiful tree collages with ladybirds and rainbows.
Term One Academies
A large number of students have enrolled in our before and after school Academies in Term One. Whether it’s learning the skills of Netball and Soccer, completing challenges in Minecraft, filming and editing in Media, or trying to keep up with Mr Wheeler in Cross Country, it’s great to see so many of our students participating and showing responsibility at our college.

Visit from Premier Mark McGowan
Aveley SC had the fantastic opportunity today to host a visit from Premier Mark McGowan, Education Minister Hon Sue Ellery MLC, MLA Jessica Shaw as well as representatives from our local primary schools. Our guests visited some classrooms and spoke with students. There was a question session for the premier who was asked questions by our Year 7 HASS students. We are very proud of the work our teachers and students are doing.
