The Technologies Department at Aveley SC, with the support of Skill-Hire and ABBTF, delivered to a number of Year 9 and 10 students a two day Try a Trade. All the students fully participated in Brickwork and Blockwork laying with students showing high levels of mastery with the tasks set. Well done!
Congratulations to our Year 9 and 10 Intermediate Soccer team on their 4-0 win against Mercy College B team. This win has allowed us to progress through to the next round of the shield competition and we are looking forward to seeing our students continue to display the College values of perseverance and respect in their future games.
Tickets to Aveley Secondary College’s first school play are now available. The ASC Drama Club is comprised of selected students from Years 7-10 and has been rehearsing after school for the last few months to bring you their production of ’The Worst Breakups of All Time’. The performances will take place at 6pm on Thursday 19 August and Friday 20 August and will run for approximately 45 minutes.

A Year 7 & 8 inclusive student disco will be held next Friday 13 August from 6:00pm to 8:30pm in the Performing Arts Theatre. The theme this year is “Friday the 13th” – all things Ghouls, Ghosts, Goblins and Halloween. Students are encouraged to dress up in fancy dress and prizes will be awarded for the most creative costumes. The cost of the disco is $5 and can be paid via the school Qkr App or through the front office. An email outlining the details of the disco will be sent out to all Year 7 & 8 parents.

Hello, my name is Shaun and I am delighted to join the Aveley SC Team. I have been working in secondary schools for about 6 years, prior to that I was a member of the Royal Australian Navy. I am very proud of my service history having been deployed around the globe in multiple active theatres of operation. My greatest weakness is food; I love eating, cooking and sharing food, especially from diverse cultures. As a Swan Valley local I am super excited to be serving our community with a friendly smile.
As our College grows we have also been adding staff to our Corporate Services team. We would like to introduce Tania Seath who will be supporting our student services area and comes with a wealth of administrative experience. Welcome Tania!
Hello to our Aveley SC Community! I am very happy to be joining the Student Services support team. I have worked for the Department of Education for a number of years in varied roles including Administration at Statewide Services, Education Assistant, School Officer and Business Support Officer. I’m looking forward to interacting and getting to know all the students who visit our friendly Student Services office.
Limited Edition ASC bucket hats in house colours are now available. These funky new hats are in response to student feedback. The hats are fully lined, and come in the full range of house colours and are adjustable. They are $17 and are available at the uniform shop or online. They will be great for carnival day and in preparation for the warmer weather.
Introducing James Naughtin who has joined our Health and Physical Education team. James has made great connections with the PE team and his expertise will be a great addition to an already amazing team.
I have the pleasure of joining the Health and Physical Education department at Aveley Secondary College. I have previously worked at the school as relief and I am looking forward to working within the team in a full time capacity.
Prior to completing my Graduate Diploma in Education, I worked in Exercise Rehabilitation for several years. I am eager to pass on my experience, knowledge and passion for Health and Physical Education to those I teach. My sport of choice is field hockey but I enjoy all sports and an active lifestyle. I look forward to settling in and getting to know the Aveley Secondary College community.
Our Term 3 Academies are now open for enrolment via Qkr! The Academies will commence Week 2 and conclude Week 8. We have a wide range of Academies this term and families received a list of what’s on offer on Monday.
