This year our Athletics Carnival will occur over two weeks!

On Thursday 8 September we will have our Competitors Carnival (Period 3 onwards) with throwing, jumping and long distance running events. Students are required to nominate for events during their homeroom time in order to participate. Parents of students participating in the Competitors Carnival are able to come and watch from Period 3 onwards.

On Thursday 15 September we will have our Whole School Fun Day with a large number of novelty and track events. Students are encouraged to dress up in their house colours with points being awarded for best dressed! All students are invited to attend and will receive house points for participating. There is no requirement to nominate.

Students will receive individual champion and house points for competing on either day. Good luck to all our competitors.

Year 9 student Cohen Treanor recently competed in the 14th CK Classic International Taekwondo Championship in Kuala Lumpur. Cohen came home with a silver medal in his division and his team won the competition! What a fantastic achievement Cohen!!

It is time to apply! Applications are open for incoming Year 7 students (2023) for our Academic and Sports Elite Programs.

Year 9 Dance students performed their Hip Hop routine ‘Uptown Funk’ at the School to Stage competition where they were able to interact with dance departments from other schools and receive feedback from qualified judging panels. Thanks to the leadership of Ms Stone and Ms Liddle and the extraordinary effort students put in to choreographing their routine, our students placed third overall in the Own Choreography category. What an amazing achievement for everyone involved!

We are very proud of our Drama students who took part in some engaging Commedia dell’Arte Drama workshops. We would like to thank Into the Mask Theatre Education for leading these wonderful workshops.

During these interactive workshops, the skills the students are developing and learning will inform and support key performance skills in their drama journey.

As part of the Certificate II Hospitality course in Senior School, students learn how to create both espresso coffees and other delicious café drinks. This week, our students have been trialling new recipes to serve at their before school café in a series of practical assessments. They also enjoyed getting to try everything they created, including milkshakes, smoothies, frappes, juices and mocktails!

We are proud to announce this year’s whole school drama production of “The Internet is Distract-OH LOOK A KITTEN!”

Micah only has 45 minutes to finish her English essay. She just needs to check a few facts on the internet first. Unfortunately, the web is a nefariously wacky place where boxing cats, Russian spies and competitive streaming services threaten to take over Micah’s schoolwork, or worse, her mind….Will she finish her assignment and escape with her life before the school bell rings?

Year 11 ATAR and General Visual Art students recently went on a gallery excursion to the Art Gallery of Western Australia to explore and investigate personal responses to artwork with guided tours around the exhibitions.

Our students were outstanding, and it was a privilege to work with the students at AGWA. We had a member of the gallery team find us to congratulate us on the behaviour and engagement of our Visual Art students during the excursion.

We are excited to announce that we have created our very own Arts Instagram page so we can celebrate and showcase the outstanding creativity across Dance, Drama, Media, Music, Photography and Visual Art.

We are very proud of the way students engage with the Arts and we will be posting and sharing updates from within the College and the incursions and excursions we run. Thank you for your ongoing support and we hope you are inspired as much as we are by the outstanding work being produced by the Arts learning Area.

Our free RATs for students have now arrived and distribution will commence Tuesday 2 August. Families will receive an email with more information regarding the distribution process.
