We would like to welcome Ben Clapton to our wonderful Arts team. Some of our students may recognise this familiar face from his professional placements here at Aveley SC, and we are so glad to be able to bring him back next year as a music teacher.
Hi, I’m Ben Clapton and I’m excited to be joining the Arts team and sharing my passion for music. I’ve just completed my Master of Teaching (Secondary) from Edith Cowan University, where I was able to complete two Professional Experience placements at Aveley SC. Most recently I have enjoyed teaching violin and viola at John XXIII College and Mercy College. While classical music is my main passion, I have wide and varied tastes and have had the opportunity to perform around Australia in contemporary and classical ensembles. Away from teaching, I am the concertmaster (leader of the orchestra) of the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra and enjoy playing in pit orchestras for music theatre. I’m looking forward to continuing to inspire and develop the amazing musical talent at Aveley Secondary College.
