Introducing Aaron Wheeler who will be joining our Health and Physical Education team. Aaron’s AFL background will benefit and interest lots of our students and we are pleased to have him on board.
Hello all, my name is Aaron Wheeler, by the time I set foot in Aveley Secondary College for the beginning of 2019 I will have finished my third year of teaching, the majority of this at Baldivis Secondary College.
I have had the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of roles including student services and curriculum development. I base a lot of my teaching on building strong relationships with my students and providing them with a safe and secure learning environment to thrive in. My teaching strategies involve humour as well as unique and innovative ways of engaging students in the content and providing them with plenty of opportunities to succeed. I have a wealth of knowledge in a number of sports but specialise in AFL, a sport which I believe I can use to engage the students at ASC further and create strong links to the community with. Having connections with Swan Districts in the WAFL, I believe I can incorporate this into potentially providing all students with strong extra-curricular opportunities. I am excited to start the next chapter of my teaching career at ASC and look forward to adding value to all areas of the College and the surrounding community.
