As a new school we meet with our staff through a formal induction as well as ongoing professional learning:
- New staff usually attend two days of professional learning in Term Four prior to commencement
- Attend an additional induction day at the start of the year in lieu of the end of the year
Innovative Coaching Support
The College has an innovative system of support for teachers through its Coaching Program. Staff have access to trained coaches in Explicit Direct Instruction, ICT and Classroom Management Strategies

Relief
Aveley Secondary College now uses Schrole to organise relief. If you are interested in applying for relief work please apply via Schrole and ensure you attach all of the below documentation and clearances for the college to be able to accept your request to join the pool. You can download Schrole from your phone or device’s App Store or Play Store.
Teachers and non teaching staff need to provide their:
- E-number
- Copy of your Working With Children Check card
- Resume including a phone number, email and address
- What subject or area you specialise in
- Availability
- Department of Education screening clearance
Teaching staff are also required to provide a copy of their Teachers Registration Board letter/email including the number and expiry date.
Corporate Services staff applying for relief work are encouraged to email a copy of your resume, Working With Children Check card and e-number to Human Resources.
Cleaners & Gardeners
Aveley Secondary College is a Private Public Partnership school. Consequently, Cleaners, Grounds and Maintenance staff will not be appointed by the College however interested applicants can contact Spotless.
