The Year 11 ATAR and Year 12 General Geography students went to the Perth Hills Discovery Centre to investigate bushfire risk management strategies in the fire-prone environments of Australia. Using the Perth Hills as a case study, students completed fire mapping tasks based on past bushfires, collected data in the field to investigate bushfire risk, and explored how prescribed burning is used as a risk reduction and hazard management strategy.
